Isn’t it wonderful to live in a beautiful and friendly neighborhood where everyone knows one another and the kids have playmates too?
If a new neighbor just moved in, you want to find ways to introduce yourself to those around you. You don’t want to isolate yourself or have your kid to be lonely. However, it can feel incredibly awkward to approach people out of the blue.
An excellent opportunity to approach people is to buy a simple gift to welcome the neighbors.
Welcoming them with a gift is how a new relationship is formed, and it’s always great getting off on the right foot with people you’ll be living near for years to come.
If you live in a growing community where new homes are still being built. This means you will have lots of new neighbors coming in.
While gifts are nice to bring to new families, you don’t want to go overboard or buy anything expensive.
Food or goodies would make yummy treats for your new neighbors and make a great first impression. Depending on the weather and where you live, you want to consider what to bring.
If it’s summer and extremely hot, anything chocolate would be a melted mess. Freezer pops would be a perfect summer treat that wouldn’t break the bank.
They are great for both adults and kids to eat during a hot summer. You can get them at Walmart or your local store.
For winter you can make deserts, hot chocolate, or something warm for your neighbors to try. If you want to make your welcoming extra special, you can hit up the dollar store to buy household items for the neighbors. A mug, picture frames, containers, or anything you may see will do.
The dollar store also has a great variety of baskets, buckets, cleaning materials you might want to think about. You may never know what your neighbors may need.
Maybe pick up some curling ribbon and a pack of craft foam sheets for the tags.
If you have Avery address tag stickers to print on, that is great, but you could easily print on regular paper and use a glue stick to complete the tags.
Avery.com lets you design and print straight from their website for free without downloading anything. When you go to their online design center and chose the name tag template, you can choose the size and format you want.
With the labels, you can design them in a fun way to welcome your new neighbors. You want to make your design unique and special sine these are your new neighbors. You can make a simple assemble with the gifts , wrapped them up nicely with a ribbon, and put the labels on it.
A cheap, adorable gift that looks professsionally made. Now you can walk over to your new neighbor’s house, and start making that relationship. You want to make sure they are home before walking over there. Visiting on the weekend is probably your best bet than a weekday.
Once the gift has been wrapped up nicely, you can load it into your wagon or whatever you are using to bring over to your neighbor.
There you have it! You now can make new friends, and your kid might be excited to have a new friend too. You don’t need to overthink things but to do it!
