His Family Accepted Him
Casey is the only LGBTQ+ individual in his family but has always received acceptance and support from his immediate family.
His parents have always been supportive of him and his brother.
The Incident
The story starts with Casey’s brother’s wedding day. A day that initially seemed to be proceeding smoothly, with a beautiful ceremony and everyone enjoying the festivities.
Things Turned Ugly
However, things took a turn when a game was introduced, dividing the participants into gender-based teams.
He Was Hesitant
Casey already had reservations about this division, as he knew a few of his cousins identified as non-binary.
He Joined the Men’s Team
Despite these concerns, he joined the men’s team, assuming it was the appropriate choice for him.
His Brother Gave a Surprising Reaction
To his surprise, Casey’s brother noticed his presence on the men’s side and gave him a nod, gesturing towards the women’s side with a questioning expression.
He Was Confused
Confused, Casey approached his brother and inquired about the team division, stating that the game was split into “guys and girls.”
The Transphobic Remark
However, his brother muttered, “’Yeah, but like you’re technically a woman, so can’t you just…”

Feeling a surge of anger, Casey responded with a forceful exclamation, telling his brother to leave him alone.
Attempting to distance himself from the situation, Casey tried to walk away, but his brother grabbed his wrist, his expression a mix of desperation and anger.

Although his brother seemed poised to say something, Casey swiftly pulled his arm back and left the party, seeking solace outside the troubling environment.

Later, Casey received a series of text messages from his brother, displaying a range of emotions from apologies to attacking remarks, accusing him of “ruining the party.”
