Is She An A**Hole For Forcing Her Daughters to Wear Dresses When They Visit Their Grandparents Even Though The Kids Hate Talking to Them?

In a recent Reddit thread on the “Am I The A**hole” (AITA) subreddit, a mother asked if she was wrong to make their daughters wear dresses when visiting their grandparents.

This woman’s in-laws are the traditional sort. They’re the kind of people that think the world should have stopped 50 years ago and that everything since is evil.

They aren’t racist or bigoted but very old-fashioned religious folk. The mother and her husband have three children, two girls aged 14 and 16, and a ten-year-old son.

They live close to their grandparents on both sides of the family and visit them regularly.

The issue, however, arises when they visit her husband’s traditional parents, who don’t like the idea of women wearing pants.

Her mother-in-law says it’s “showing off,” and her father-in-law says it isn’t Christian.

The wife describes herself as “pretty feminine” and doesn’t mind wearing a dress to visit her in-laws, but the kids aren’t and hate it.

They don’t like visiting their grandparents on their dad’s side because their parents force them to wear dresses.
