Controversial Claims
In a conversation on the popular Adam Carolla Show, Carlson referred to a claim by Larry Sinclair, asserting that Barack Obama once smoked crack and had a homosexual relationship.
Political Manipulation or Hidden Truth?
Sinclair’s claims, “I smoked crack with Barack Obama and had sex with him,” which first surfaced during Obama’s 2008 presidential campaign, have been a matter of debate, and the media widely dismissed them at the time.
Carlson’s Bold Assertion
These allegations were largely seen as politically motivated, attempting to damage Obama’s reputation amidst a heated electoral race. Tucker Carlson argues that Sinclair’s claim “was obviously true.”
Carlson Accuses Obama Campaign of Suppressing Allegations
Carlson argues that the reason these allegations didn’t gain traction back in 2008 was due to direct threats from Obama’s campaign.
“Nobody reported it not because they were squeamish about sex or drugs but because the Obama campaign said anyone who reports on this gets no access to the Obama campaign,” he alleged.

He accused the media of “lying” and suppressing the story to maintain their access to then-Senator Obama.
Larry Sinclair’s Credibility Under Scrutiny
Sinclair’s own credibility has been in question for quite some time. The man, with criminal convictions including forgery, fraud, and larceny, has been dubbed by many as having “a specialty in crimes involving deceit.”

However, undeterred by the skepticism surrounding his narrative, Sinclair even went on to publish a self-authored book in 2009, ambitiously titled ‘Barack Obama & Larry Sinclair: Cocaine, Sex, Lies & Murder?’.
In it, he further alleged that Obama had another male partner whose death was suspiciously linked to the former president.
Revisiting Obama’s 1982 Letter
Revisiting old texts, Carlson also pointed to a 1982 letter written by a 21-year-old Obama to his then-girlfriend, Alex McNear.
The letter gives an insight into Obama’s sexuality, where it is reported he wrote that he “loves making love to men daily, but in the imagination.”
Carlon argued that ‘Barack Obama said so himself in a letter to his girlfriend. That’s Barack Obama’s business. I am not attacking him for liking dudes.”
Obama’s Changing Stance on LGBTQ+ Rights
It’s worth noting that throughout his tenure, Obama’s stance on LGBTQ+ rights changed greatly.
Although he was opposed to homosexual marriage in 2004, asserting, “I don’t think marriage is a civil right,” his views underwent a transformation during his presidency. By 2015, Obama was celebrating the federal legalization of same-sex marriages.
Stability Amidst Allegations
Obama has been in a stable marriage with Michelle Obama since 1992, and the couple has two daughters.
