Ever since her little brother was born, OP has suffered from typical middle child problems. She pretty much feels invisible to the rest of her family.

The real problem for OP is that her older sister is the golden child as far as their parents are concerned. She can do no wrong.

OP’s sister was always popular among their peer groups, too, and that caused other problems for OP.
She Stole Her Friends
One big issue was that OP’s sister is a lesbian, and she was always trying to date OP’s friends. The relationships got super complicated and again often left OP out in the cold.
She Hit the Big Time
Recently, though, OP opened her own bakery in her hometown. It was big news, and her family was thrilled.

To celebrate, OP’s mom invited the whole family over for dinner, with OP as the guest of honor. They were going to celebrate her career breakthrough.

This was the first time OP’s sister had ever brought a girlfriend to one of her mom’s dinners, and everyone wanted to talk about their relationship.

To make matters worse, the girlfriend was a psychiatrist, which led to long and winding conversations. Hardly anyone even noticed that OP was there at all.
She Clammed Up
OP wasn’t too happy with the situation and didn’t talk much during the dinner. Not that she could have gotten a word in edgewise, anyway!

Once the dinner was over, OP’s sister pulled her aside and asked her why she was sulking.
