Rather than being discouraged by these attacks, he views them as indicators that he poses a genuine threat to his political rivals.

He stated, “I get attacked by the left, I get attacked by the Democrats, [Joe] Biden, [Kamala] Harris, the media, [Donald] Trump, so I must be somebody that they consider to be a threat.”

DeSantis further elaborated on his approach to the criticism, emphasizing that being targeted by opponents is a sign that he is hitting the mark.

He said, “Look, when they’re attacking you, that means you’re over the target. So, we’re happy to field that and we’ll hold our own.”

Making a Positive Impact Is Important

He emphasized that his primary focus is on winning the election and making a positive impact, rather than pursuing personal gain or other motives.

DeSantis said, “At the end of the day, I am running to actually win the presidency and do all these great things.”

“I don’t have any other motive. I don’t want to get a cable news deal. I am not trying to sell anything I don’t want a cabinet post,” he added.

He pointed out that his administration has delivered on its promises and achieved positive outcomes for the state, a feat that resonates with voters who are weary of politicians who overpromise and underdeliver.

He said, “We’ve actually delivered on everything that we’ve promised and over-delivered in many respects, and that’s what we need in Washington.”

No Time for Excuses

DeSantis also underscored the urgency of the current political moment, and said, “The time for excuses is over. We gotta get the job done.”
