Yet, upon the discovery of his sexual orientation, his mother’s response was anything but supportive. Instead, tears, anger, and hurtful words followed. And it happened more than once!
He Was Punished
The first two times Charlie confided in his mom, he faced daily grounding and punishments. However, on the third occasion, he was completely disowned.
His Grandmother Took Him In
During this trying period, Charlie found solace with his grandmother, who accepted him without judgment and provided the support he needed.

However, fate brought Charlie back to his mother’s home, and this time, the tensions escalated to a point where a physical confrontation unfolded, leading to another instance of disownment.

Charlie’s grandmother is pushing him to apologize for fighting with his mother, saying that while what she did was wrong, he shouldn’t have fought with her.
