These charges are primarily connected to false statements made on a federal application completed by Hunter in October 2018 in order to purchase the firearm.

The Prison Sentence is Decades Long
Two of the counts against Hunter Biden carry a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison each, while the third carries a maximum penalty of five years imprisonment.

These issues led to the plea deal being reconsidered, and when negotiations between Hunter Biden’s lawyers and prosecutors reached an impasse, Special Counsel David Weiss sought indictments against him.
