In a strategic move to address the growing concerns around Islamophobia and other forms of discrimination, the Biden administration announced the launch of a comprehensive national strategy to counter these issues. Here’s the full story.

This decision was made just a day after a concerning poll revealed a sharp decline in support for President Biden among Arab Americans.
Combating Islamophobia
White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre issued a statement on Wednesday outlining the administration’s commitment to combating Islamophobia and hate in all its forms.

The strategy is set to be developed through a joint effort led by the Domestic Policy Council and the National Security Council, involving community leaders, advocates, members of Congress, and other stakeholders.
Muslims Have Endured Hate-Fueled Attacks
“For too long, Muslims in America, and those perceived to be Muslim, such as Arabs and Sikhs, have endured a disproportionate number of hate-fueled attacks and other discriminatory incidents,” Karine Jean-Pierre said.
Discriminatory Incidents
The goal is to create an approach that effectively addresses the alarming increase in hate-fueled attacks and discriminatory incidents against Muslims in America.
Arab-Americans Support Have Declined
The announcement of this strategy comes on the heels of a disturbing poll that raised concerns about the administration’s support among Arab-Americans and the broader Muslim community.
A Major Drop
According to a Reuters/Zogby poll conducted on Tuesday, just 17% of Arab-Americans expressed support for President Biden.
This represents a significant drop from the 59% support he received in the 2020 election.
It is noteworthy that Arab-American support for the President had already fallen to 35% before the eruption of the war in the Middle East.
Many No Longer Identify as Democrats
The poll results mark a historic shift as, for the first time since the poll’s inception in 1997, a majority of Arab-Americans no longer identify as Democrats.
Instead, 32% expressed their affiliation with the Republican Party, while 31% identified as independents.
Support Former President Donald Trump
Only 20% of respondents rated President Biden’s job performance as “good,” while a significant 40% indicated their intent to support former President Donald Trump in the 2024 election if he becomes the Republican nominee.
Chasing After Votes
Several social media users shared their thoughts on the incident.
One Twitter user wrote, “It’s kind of weird how they always chase after votes. He would think he would just find the morals that you have and stick with them instead of flipping back and forth.”
The Problem
Another user added, “The problem with positioning yourself as the savior/protector of minorities is that sometimes your minorities will disagree with each other and then you will have to pick a side.”
