A Loving Relationship
The story takes place in a small town where Angelina, a 28-year-old woman, is dealing with a friendship drama that involves her fiancé, Brad, and her best friend, Jennifer.
Angelina and Brad have been together for years and are not jealous types, as they both have friends of the opposite gender.
A Friend Visited From Abroad
Angelina’s friend, Jennifer, who lives overseas, visited her for the first time in years.
Jennifer came on a solo holiday to see family and friends. Because of the lockdown and her child, this was the first time she was meeting Brad in person.
They Bonded, and Angelina Was Happy
At first, Angelina loved the fact that Jennifer was bonding with Brad.
But Then Jennifer Started Acting Strange
However, things started going downhill when Jennifer walked out of the room and started changing clothes in an open space in the house when she heard Brad’s car pull up.
She was already in her gym clothes but “wanted something more comfy.”
She Was Really Pushing It
Throughout the weekend, Jennifer tried overly hard to create inside jokes with Brad and made comments about how Angelina doesn’t like football or bourbon, like she does.
She whispered jokes and comments in Brad’s ear when Angelina walked away.
She Continued to Display Dismissive Behavior
Even after Angelina called her out on it and asked her to stop, Jennifer continued to belittle her about insignificant things, like wearing makeup and getting her hair done for an event.
Why Would You Say This About Your Friend?
Jennifer carried on by saying that Angelina was too girly, while she was too much of a tomboy for that.
She even suggested that she makes her partner’s lunch every single day and that Brad deserves that because he “works harder” than Angelina does.
This Is Too Much!
Jennifer walked around the house in her underwear on multiple occasions and constantly made little comments and snarky jokes about Angelina, trying to get Brad to join in.
How Are They Friends?
Angelina has a history of Jennifer doing this with her previous partners. One time Jennifer cuddled up with Angelina’s ex on the lounge in front of her to “fire her up.”
Angelina laughed it off and never pulled Jennifer up on it because she thought Jennifer was just being her eclectic self and they were young.
Brad Thought She Was Too Much
Brad was caught off guard by Jennifer’s behavior and shrugged off her comments and actions.
He said Jennifer was very “out there.” While she was nice, she could just be a bit much at times for him.
Overly Playful or Intrusive?
There were a few times when Brad wanted to hang out by himself, but Jennifer would keep going into their room to drag him back out and would jokingly jump on him and wrestle him to get him out of bed!

Angelina didn’t know whether to say something or not. She didn’t want to ruin her friendship with Jennifer, but she also didn’t want to let Jennifer’s behavior go unchecked.
Angelina needed advice on how to proceed with the situation, so she turned to Reddit.
She Needs to Create and Enforce Boundaries
After sharing her story on Reddit, people’s responses were clear: Angelina was under-reacting and needed to nip this in the bud immediately.
Redditors advised Angelina that Jennifer was making herself Angelina’s competition and not respecting her or any of her partners.
They recommended that Angelina cut Jennifer off completely and set boundaries for both of them or at least one of them would be getting the chop.
She’s Not a True Friend
Redditors said Jennifer was not a friend because no friend would ever do that to someone they care about and their partner.
They thought the amount of disrespect, disloyalty, and entitlement that was seeping from Jennifer was disgusting!
Brad Needs to Enforce Boundaries Too
They asked Angelina if this is what “a good friend” does and whether she would do it to anybody.
They said that Brad was not really that naïve, and if Jennifer jumped on him, he needed to say no.
