Fox News host Sean Hannity, who is known to be a staunch Donald Trump supporter, interviewed Vivek Ramaswamy on his show and questioned the Republican Presidential candidate’s credentials at one point. In doing so, he also accidentally took a shot at Trump and his qualifications to serve as President.

Fox News host Sean Hannity interviewed Republican Presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy on his show this week.
The interview took a turn for the worse almost immediately and got very contentious by the time it was over.
Hannity Questioned Ramaswamy About His Recent Comments
Hannity asked Ramaswamy about a series of comments he made while speaking with former Fox News host Tucker Carlson.
During that interview, Ramaswamy suggested that some of his fellow politicians have been focusing so much on the situation in other countries while simultaneously “ignoring the interests of the U.S. right here at home.”
He also accused some of these politicians of profiting off global wars from a financial perspective.
Ramaswamy Didn’t Appreciate Hannity’s Line of Questioning
Ramaswamy responded by accusing Hannity of mischaracterizing the comments he made to Carlson.
He also reiterated the fact that he doesn’t believe government officials and, more specifically, the President of the United States should be able to profit from their positions of power.
Ramaswamy Tried to Clean Up His Original Comments
Ramaswamy seemed to try to further explain the comments he made to Carlson while talking to Hannity. “If you’re making money off your time in government, then I don’t think you’re fit to be President of the United States,” Ramaswamy said. “More importantly though, what’s our policy, stand with our allies while avoiding World War 3 and that’s where I’m at.”
Hannity and Ramaswamy Got Into a Heated Discussion
All of this would eventually lead to Hannity and Ramaswamy having a very heated discussion while they were live on the air.
The two men went back and forth, taking shots at one another for a few minutes.
Hannity Accused Ramaswamy of “Playing Games”
Hannity came off the top rope first by calling out Ramaswamy for, in his mind, routinely refusing to stand behind the things he says.
“You do this in every single interview,” Hannity said. “You say stuff and then you deny it. You deny your own words. So, you know, why don’t you just own what you say and stand by it and stop playing these games?”
Ramaswamy Called Hannity’s Interviewing Skills Into Question
Ramaswamy shot back at Hannity by accusing him of not being a good interviewer.
He complimented Carlson and said that he enjoyed speaking with the former Fox News host more than Hannity. “One of the things I loved about that interview with Tucker was we were actually able to have a thoughtful conversation and go deep into issues rather than this kind of political got-you,” he said.
Hannity Doubled Down on His Criticisms of Ramaswamy
Hannity admitted that he likes Carlson and thought he conducted a great interview with Ramaswamy.
But he also continued to take aim at Ramaswamy for not standing behind the things he has said in the past. “I thought it was great. Listen, praise Tucker all you want. I like Tucker. I got along great with him,” he said. “But here’s your problem: You go on these shows, people quote your exact words, and you deny your own words.”
Ramaswamy Suggested Hannity Might Be “Fake News”
Ramaswamy kept on pushing back against Hannity’s assertion that he doesn’t stand behind his words.
He even went as far as to allude to the fact that Hannity might need to be thrown into the “fake news” category soon.
“I’m enjoying this,” Ramaswamy said. “You have been laughing about the fake news media how many times for the last several years? And now you’re buying the mainstream media narrative when you know how corrupt it is. This is a corrupt game.”
Hannity Ended the Interview With Ramaswamy Abruptly
Hannity and Ramaswamy probably could have continued to go back and forth for the rest of the show.
But Hannity chose to pull the plug on the interview early to end his debate with Ramaswamy. “Thank you,” he said as he parted ways with Ramaswamy. “Goodbye.”
Hannity Had a Few Final Words for Ramaswamy
Hannity wasn’t finished with Ramaswamy, though.
After he ended his segment with him, he continued to talk about him on the air and even sent one more shot in his direction.
Hannity Explained Why Ramaswamy Shouldn’t Be President
Hannity revealed that he doesn’t think Ramaswamy deserves to be elected President, and he also explained why. “I think people that never held public office, like you, maybe they’re not qualified to be President,” he said.
Hannity Accidentally Dragged Donald Trump Into the Discussion
Hannity’s comment caught some people by surprise because he has been a staunch Donald Trump supporter in the past.
Trump, of course, never held public office prior to becoming President. He was the first President in U.S. history who could make this claim.
Ramaswamy Kept the Conversation Going on Social Media
Ramaswamy didn’t have an opportunity to respond to Hannity’s final point on his show.
But that didn’t stop him from jumping on X to issue a response. He pointed out that if all Presidential candidates had to hold public office prior to running for President, it “would have disqualified 2016 Donald Trump, who would go on to become the greatest president of the 21st century.”
Others Jumped In to Blast Hannity on Social Media
Ramaswamy wasn’t the only one to point out the flawed logic that Hannity used.
Many others also chimed in to call out his comment. “Can you believe Sean actually said that?” one X user asked. “I agree with Sean on Vivek and his new found ideal that electing Trump was a mistake,” another X user said. A third X user added: “Sean Hannity has lost it. This was painfuI to watch.”
