With the Presidential race drawing nearer, major news outlets are starting to release hypothetical match-ups to gauge how different candidates would fare against one another.
According to a poll conducted by CNN and SSRS, President Joe Biden’s performance doesn’t hold up when pitted against various Republican candidates in hypothetical matchups.
Biden Loses to Haley In a Hypothetical Match-up
Nikki Haley secured a victory over Biden when they were compared in a hypothetical matchup, receiving 45 percent of the vote.
Biden Tied With DeSantis
When pitted against Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, Biden finds himself in a dead heat.
The Oldest Serving President of the United States
The overarching message of the poll is that Democratic voters want to see alternative candidates in the mix, given that Joe Biden holds the distinction of being the oldest-serving president in United States history.
No Democrats With National Recognition Want to Challenge Biden
However, no serious challengers have emerged to Biden on the Democratic side so far.
Only Long-Shot Challengers
Self-help author and motivational speaker Marianne Williamson announced her campaign earlier this year, but she is seen as a long-shot candidate.
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. also launched a long-shot bid for the Democratic nomination back in April, following in the footsteps of his late father, Robert F. “Bobby” Kennedy, who tragically lost his life during his own 1968 bid for the Democratic presidential nomination.
Democrat Voters Want an Alternative to Biden
Approximately 82 percent of Democrats said they want to see the party nominate “someone besides Joe Biden” for office, according to the report.
Biden is facing increased scrutiny as his senior moments have become more frequent.

In June, the U.S. president tripped and fell on stage to his hands and knees while giving out diplomas at the U.S. Air Force Academy graduation ceremony in Colorado.

Vice President Kamala Harris defended Biden in a recent interview with CBS, where she was asked about the results of an earlier poll that showed two-thirds of Americans believing Biden is too old to serve a second term.
Harris downplayed those concerns, saying that “Joe Biden is going to be fine.”
“I work with Joe Biden every day,” she said. “The work that under Joe Biden’s leadership our administration has accomplished is transformative. I think the American people, most of all, want a leader who actually gets things done.”
